This Is How We Work
You are part of the team
Our team at Doing The Math consists of highly qualified and motivated mathematicians. Whether you are an experienced mathematician with a Ph.D. or a master’s student in econometrics, we work together as a team towards a goal. We appreciate everyone’s say in how we get there.
Flexible conditions
Currently everyone working at DTM is based in Germany, Spain and The Netherlands. However, looking for the best person for the job we may find our new team members coming from all over Europe. Working remotely enables us to work at any location, which brings us great flexibility in our personal lives. We have online meetings to catch up and work on projects, but we also believe it is important to have face–to–face contact. Therefore, we meet up every three to four months for several days to work out our strategies, share our perspectives, and simply have a good time together. Of course, it is always possible to plan in-person work sessions together, as we frequently do in a co-working space in The Hague.
Expertise
We all have a strong background in mathematical modelling both in academia and in industry. We stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field by reading papers, following the open-source community, and attending webinars and conferences. Every two weeks we organize an internal knowledge session in which a DTM-er shares some of their expertise or recently gained insights with the rest of the team.
